The Steelmen Baseball 12U won the Nations Baseball Open Division Silver State Championship on Sunday in Massillon, defeating Fielder’s Choice of Brecksville 9-8. On the way to the championship, the team also defeated the MC Patriots of Zanesville 8-3, Premier Ohio Burke of Brunswick 13-0, and the Shelby Bombers 12-6. The Steelmen have been together since 2015, playing out of Oakwood Park in Lorain. It is a community based team with most members attending the Amherst Schools. The roster includes Mason Lymer, Hunter Thornsberry, Brody Glick, Kaden Sikora, Landon Wolf, Harrison Schneider, Peyton Leibacher, JoJo Jancsura, David Dudziak, Cael Charles, Tyler Denn and Cole Charles.
