Once, it was winter all the time. Summer was trapped in a bag at the snow’s edge. “Coyote Steals the Summer” tells the story of how Coyote brought warmth back to the world. Second-graders at Eastwood Elementary performed a snippet of the play for their grandmas and grandpas Nov. 27 on Grandparents Day. They rehearsed weekly for 45 minutes with The MAD Factory, a drama school in Oberlin, and play acting games and sing songs. The program is a way to bring theater and dance instruction to the schools. A full 15-minute performance of the play is scheduled for January.
