Students in Rich Moreck’s foods and nutrition classes at Oberlin High School created this year’s Gingerbread Extravaganza.

For 20 years, students in the family and consumer science program at Oberlin High School have designed, built, and decorated gingerbread houses for the community to enjoy.

This year, the Gingerbread Extravaganza will be on display from Monday, Dec. 3 through Tuesday, Jan. 15 at the Oberlin Public Library.

With grant funding from the Oberlin City Schools Endowment Fund, the results are always outstanding and the students have a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

Ballots will be available for patrons to vote for their favorite creations.

The public is invited to enjoy the display and vote for their favorite gingerbread in each category.

The categories are Most Creative Use of Candy and Decoration, Best Traditional House, Most Original, My Favorite, and The One I Would Most Like to Eat.

The Oberlin Business Partnership has offered to present prizes to the winners.
